GIMTA Piano Ensemble: 
​Preparing Music Binders​

• All students need a 1/2" black binder. Teachers or students need to procure and fill the binder. It should contain:
  • The original music (digital downloads are acceptable)
    • If a copy needs to be made for ease of page-turning, the original should be stored in a pocket of the folder
    • Siblings playing the same piece only need one copy of the music
  • Performer Rehearsal and Concert Form (completed and signed)
    • make sure parents and students understand that failure to abide by these required policies could result in removal from this year's ensemble program and ineligibility to perform in future ensemble events

• If music is more than 2 pages, there are 2 options:
  
  • 1. students can turn their own pages, OR
    
  • 2. You can set up the binder in the following manner to accommodate 3 pages:
    • place a piece of strong black cardstock on the inside of the binder cover
      
    • Tape along the vertical edge of both the binder and the cardstock, allowing the cardstock to be unfolded like a wing and then folded back into the binder. (This will support the additional page without weighing it down.)
      
      • for Primos, the cardstock should be taped to the back binder cover, so it does not cover the music stand where the secondo's binder will be
      • for Secondos, the cardstock should be taped to the front cover, so it does not cover the music stand where the primo's binder will be
